Our Mission
The Legal and Human Rights Centre is both a legal and a human rights organisation.
The primary task of the Legal and Human Rights Centre is to create legal and human rights empowerment amongst the socially, economically, culturally and spiritually disadvantaged and marginalized groups within the Tanzania society through legal and human rights training, provision of legal aid, information generation and dissemination through publications and radio programmes, research on legal and human rights issues and networking and alliance building with other institutions which share this mission.
The above can be achieved by: Dissemination of legal and human rights knowledge to various groups in the society through training, publications and radio programmes. Provision of legal aid to indigent people or those whose cases have special public interest or cases, which can advance law reform.
Promotion of public awareness in the field of environmental protection and; Conducting research on legal and human rights issues with the aim of using the findings as a basis for lobbying and advocacy for changes.
